Hello All,
Left work in Annapolis when the snowflakes started 1230 . Got lunch and stopped at Fort Amistead for a hopeful look at the Harlequin duck since it is almost in my back yard. Thanks Keith !! You da Man !! 1:30pm I sat at the boat ramp for about 5 minutes finishing lunch scanning for Harlequin. Drove over to the potholed dirt road and spotted it right away . Close to the rocks coming from the Key bridge area heading to the fishing piers . I was able to watch it for about 5 minutes (and get couple bad photos ) before it disappeared behind the piers. There was a birder there in a red truck that said he had been waiting a couple hours and it just came out. Guy left and I waited for about 15 more minutes for it to come back my way when the snow was beginning so i checked the boat ramp area again before leaving . Couldnt refind. .It is steady diving and moving . not much concerned with anything . just seems to be enjoying himself. LIFER FINALLY !! Tried
3 times for the one in Cambridge a few years ago.
Also of note . I stopped at Cabin Branch creek on Pennington ave in Curtis bay on way home . There are a few hundred Canvasbacks some Canada geese and around 100 gulls . Not able to see very well without a scope.
