Governor Bridge Natural Area, PG County, was fairly slow this morning
(8:30-9:15am), not surprising given the snow cover and almost completely
frozen ponds. But the outing was made more than worthwhile by the
presence of a FoY Merlin on the large dead tree out near the canoe
launch area. Wonder if this is the same bird noted at Gov Bridge in
several eBird reports in 2010?

Other highlight were two YB Sapsuckers chasing each other up and
around a tree. All in all, only 9 species:

   _ Merlin

   _ Hermit Thrush

   _ YB Sapsucker (2)

   _ Northern Flicker

   _ Downy Woodpecker (heard)

   _ Field Sparrow

   _ WT Sparrow (9)

   _ Northern Cardinal (3)

   _ Canada Goose, overhead.

   Good Birding!
