Jim et all,

You bring up an excellent subject, one that has been bugging me
lately. I am the absolute worst at spelling and grammar when it comes
to my MDOSPREY posts, and for that I sincerely apologize. Blame it on
excitement, typing on an iPhone, whatever...

Going forward, I will thoroughly check my work before hitting the send button.

In other news:

I spoke with Frank Marenghi about his falcon sightings at Greenbury
Point this morning. He mentioned that there may have been as many as
THREE Peregrines present.

A few years back I witnessed a Peregrine chasing (and vocalizing at)
another Peregrine. Those two falcons were closely followed by a THIRD
Peregrine, screaming in the skies over our home in West Annapolis.
Weeks later I noticed that the local breeding female, who fledged from
the Tappan Zee Bridge in New York, was no longer present. Leg bands
revealed that she was replaced / ousted by a young Virginia girl,
perhaps on that very day I noticed the commotion. If memory serves,
that event occurred in early February. This might be the time of year
when some 'floaters' out there start vying for the best mates and nest
sites.

Best,
