MD Osprey:

For those of you that were around and birding in 1993-1994, does
anyone have photos of any of the Hoary Redpolls that part of the huge
redpoll flock that came to Dave Czaplak's feeders in Germantown,
Montgomery County, MD during the winter of 1993-1994? Dave published
an article in Birding magazine about identifying Common and Hoary
Redpolls in winter, but some of the Hoary photos were undated. Mike
Bowen just provided several of his dated photos to me from March 19.
1994. Paul O'Brien has also provided written notes. Perhaps with some
more photos, I can better reconstruct some dates for birds published
in the article.

For those of you who were not around at this time, there was a
redpoll invasion into the Mid-Atlantic from November 1993 to April
1994. At Dave's feeders, near Black Hill Regional Park, he often had
350 redpolls present at once and over this period he photographed at
least 15 Hoarys.

Any help with photographs or any other related notes would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Phil
