Pine Siskin, Tree Sparrow in Howard County Jan 22

This afternoon I saw some interesting birds despite the cold. One Pine Siskin was with a flock of 8 House Finches near the corner of Font Hill and Carrigan Drives in Ellicott City. The Tree Sparrow was with a flock of about 60 juncos, several Song Sparrows, six Field and two Chipping Sparrows at Schooley Mill Park. This flock was at the back edge of ball field 1 behind the Harlow House- a map of the park is at:

Also at Schooley Mill was a male Yellow-bellied Sapsucker in the large maple trees next to the Harlow House.  A male American Kestrel was perched at the top of a tree in fields on Sheppard Lane just south of Folly Quarter Road.
