Around 4 PM today (1/29) I saw two Lapland Longspurs along Old Frederick Road about two miles west of Route 32. One, a winter male, was with a flock of Savannah Sparrows and Horned Larks along the road shoulder just past a farm driveway on the right. The second bird which looked like a female was with two Horned Larks about 50 feet up the same driveway that leads to a farm with blue silos. There were more Savannah Sparrows and Horned Larks in the surrounding fields and road edges.
