All: Nine birders, including Lisa and myself, enjoyed the Yellow-Headed Blackbird this morning in Callaway, St. Mary's County, thanks to the gracious hospitality of Patricia Rose. The bird waited about 45 minutes after our arrivals to appear with a flock of cowbirds and red-wings, no doubt put off by a marauding Sharp-Shinned Hawk and some neighbors' cat. The flock was exceedingly skittish.
Later, a tour of Point Lookout State Park brought nothing exotic, but a nice selection of waterfowl, Brown-Headed Nuthatch, Grey Catbird, Winter Wren and another Sharp-Shinned.
Thanks again Patricia!
