Hi Folks,

A routine afternoon survey of the Swan Creek/Cox Creek property (near Key
Bridge) in AA County by Ed Carlson and myself produced some good finds.
From the north dyke of the north dredge cell (not public) we were able to
scope the HARLEQUIN DUCK under the concrete pier that forms the south
boundary of the Fort Armistead property. While counting the gulls in the
river, we came upon an ICELAND GULL, either a pale juvenile or possibly a
second winter bird, just off shore from the north cell. This was a new bird
for the property, and represents the fourth different location in Anne
Arundel Co. where I've found Iceland Gull since December (the other
locations being Jug Bay, Sandy Point, and Herrington Harbor).

While returning from the north dyke, Ed spotted some SNOW BUNTINGs inside
the north dredge cell, and we ended up counting 12 of them. Though these
birds were at the north end of the cell, they would have been easily scoped
from the office area or flagpole area.  We didn't initially see these birds;
we had been in the area for 30 or 40 minutes before they showed up, so if
anyone comes looking for them, be patient. They are likely the same birds
that I saw here last Thursday.

Other birds of interest were a KESTREL at the edge of the south cell, and a
PEREGRINE FALCON on the Key Bridge.
