I asked for tips on the Yucatan and heard from six of you almost immediately.  Thanks to Ryan (who recommended a guide, as did others), Andy (who sent me his list from his recent travels there, which became our trip checklist), Sue, Scott (who had just left Mexico and was in El Salvador), Kevin and Wendy O.  We did hire a guide for one day and totaled 100 species.  As it turns out, all the little parks with Mayan ruins, mostly in the Tulum area, are also good for birds in the edges and along the trails.

I am signing off until I return to DC in April (from Steamboat Springs), and I will probably see a bunch of the group in Rock Creek Park come then.
