During the Frederick County Winter Count on Sunday, the 30th, Snow
Buntings were found in two locations in our territory in the northeastern
part of the county. Bill Ellis and Don Jewell found about 10 in a flock of
about 50 Horned Larks on the south side of Harney Road near the intersection
with the segment of Bullfrog Road that goes into Pennsylvania where there is
a large patch of grassy-looking weeds protruding through the snow. Also,
Keith Costley and I found one in a huge flock of Horned Larks (estimated
about 350) on a manure field on Grimes Road about a quarter mile NE of Sixes
Bridge Road.
