Hiked the Middle Patuxent environmental area this morning. It was extremely difficult to navigate the ice covered paths. However it was quite rewarding with a pair or RED-BREASTED NUTHATCHES in the little pine stand. BARRED OWLS in a couple places and I was lucky to get a picture of one of them.

A HERMIT THRUSH and GOLDEN CROWNED KINGLETS. I had a pair of CARDINALS courting this morning as the male fed the female. Just in time for valentines day :)
