The scoter was not in the park this morning. I imagine it only stayed a brief while at such an unsuitable place compared to its normal habitat. However, the park is not birdless. I saw the following this morning while taking my son to the playground:
1 Pintail (female)
2 Black Duck
1 Merlin
1 Red-tailed Hawk
1 White-breasted Nuthatch
1 Carolina Chickadee
2 Tufted Titmice
1 John Hubbell

The black Ducks and the Merlin have been present for much of the winter.

Good birding !

Dave
