Hi Everyone,

I just talked to Mikey Lutmerding. He and Ron Gutberlet relocated the gull at Skimmer Island this afternoon and were able to document it. It appears to be a Ring-billed x Laughing Gull hybrid. They said it maps very well to the photo on page 14 of Howell and Dunn. It's disappointing, of course, but it says good things about how we take care to document our rare birds. Exceptional records should be documented before they're confirmed. Thanks to Mikey and Ron for investing the time today!  I look forward to seeing the photos.
