My daughter Isla and I enjoyed a minimum of 5 AMERICAN WOODCOCKS peeenting
all around the point tonight, with at least 2 birds engaged in full
displays.  The skies were alive.  The show started promptly at 5:55 PM.
Fantastic.

But the best part of my brief visit was hearing a NORTHERN BOBWHITE's clear
call.  It came from the general direction of the grassy, weedy field behind
the mulching facility.

How great would it be to have these birds breeding here again?  Unlikely as
it is now dog walkers heaven... and few scoop.  Even fewer bother to leash
their dogs.
