Thanks for your post Micheal. 
 
I was somewhat reluctant to post sightings from Kershner's Pond to the list. We
don't have many good places to find waterbirds in Frederick county and have
previously lost access to one of our prime sites due to discourteous birders. I
do fear that if too many people go birding at Kershner's, we might lose access
simply because the residents get fed up of too many cars along the single track
road. I don't want to actively discourage birders, but really, the waterbirds
we get there are easy to see in much larger numbers elsewhere in Maryland. I
posted my sightings because there were 2-3 birds on Friday that are not easy to
see in Frederick county, so I wanted local birders to know. I'd hate for us to
lose access to the pond, so I re-iterate Michael's call for visitors to be
sensible and courteous.
