In between packing and more packing (we're moving from West Annapolis to
North Annapolis, technically St. Margaret's), I stopped very briefly at
Sandy Point. At 11AM, two HORNED LARKS were on the beach nearest the
lighthouse.

On the way to run an errand this evening, I slowed down enough to enjoy a
PEREGRINE FALCON perched on one of the light poles on the South River Bridge
at 6PM. One day I'll have to investigate this other local falcon to see if
he or she is banded. Since there are no sidewalks, and it was late, AND I
needed to get back to packing... I didn't stop. The movers arrive Thursday
morning.

For those wondering, I tallied 129 species in three years here in West
Annapolis. Some of the more memorable birds were:
-a flyover Mississippi Kite
-a Grasshopper Sparrow in my suburban backyard
-a Red-necked Grebe on Weems Creek
-a Yellow-bellied Flycatcher this past fall
-three Peregrine's in a line overhead, and lastly...
-the White-winged Crossbills.

All fine memories. Now I'm looking forward to building my new yard list.

Good Birding,

Dan Haas
