This morning I had one Eastern Phoebe at Schoolhouse Pond, my first of the season. It was calling and flicking its tail in the trees at the rear of the pond near the residential townhouses. There were no other new spring arrivals and little else unusual: 21 Shovelers, 150 or so Canada Geese, several Yellow-rumped Warblers, 2 Tree Swallows, and, just before I left, a swirling flock of 200+ Ring-billed Gulls passed overhead and made their way in the general direction of the landfill.
