Afternoon all,

Around noon I stepped outside to fill the feeders, fountain, etc. and heard the far-off but long-carrying call of Tundra Swans. It took a few minutes to locate them, as they were flying rather high. Two flocks heading east, toward Piney Run (though they were likely on their way north and not to Piney Run), numbering between 80-120 birds or so. Even at a great distance, it's great to hear their wild calls.

A minute later, once they had gone, I saw a trio of COMMON MERGANSERS flying fast and rather low, heading SSW, yard bird # 134!
