The Greater White-Fronted Goose was near, but not in, the pond at Stevens Park in Poolesville @ 11:30 am Saturday. The goose and the big flock of Canadas with which it hangs were in a field on the north side of 107 just before you see the "entering Poolesville" sign when approaching from the east.
The Red-necked Grebe was at Riley's Lock @ 1 pm, about 200 yards south of the bridge fairly close to the north (Maryland) shore. Also present was a big mixed flock of Scaup and Red-heads (I counted 25), as well as scattered Wigeon, Gadwall, Coot, Horned Grebes, and 3 Tundra Swans.
Good Birding.
