I have just learned that dredging work at Lake Elkhorn is also affecting the Dockside parking lot. And the signage about it is very confusing. So the waterfowl search will NOT/NOT meet at Lake Elkhorn. Since Lake Kittmaqundi is often not very productive and explaining where to rendezvous would be too complicated, we will meet at the Barns at Wilde Lake. For directions see Birding Howard County at the Howard County Bird Club's website, http://howardbirds.org .

I will try to check Kittamaqundi before the trip starts to make sure we don't miss anything good.

Wilde Lake can be quite productive. From there we will visit Centennial Lake, covering the south shore. Per Diane Ford's post from today, interesting waterfowl continues. The winds overnight and through tomorrow are forecast to be southeast, which should bottle up migration. Hopefully the flood gates will reopen Friday and bring us interesting waterfowl. But may also prompt the scaup, mergansers, Redheads, etc. at Centennial to move on.

Since we will be further along than normal, we should have more leisure to explore Triadelphia, which yesterday hosted two Long-tailed Ducks per Bill H.
