Every spring we used to rely on a single Fox Sparrow dropping by our small backyard in Bethesda, Montgomery County, for a brief visit.  The last couple of years, we haven’t seen one, so it was a nice surprise when one appeared this morning in the rain and is still happily scratching under the feeders and nearby bushes.
