I just now stopped by the flats. I scoped from the bridge and saw Canada Geese, Mallards, Ring-necked Ducks, Black Ducks, Gadwalls, Redheads (at least seven), and American Wigeons. I did not see the Eurasian Wigeon, but this doesn't mean it's not there. The view from the bridge is obstructed. I then checked the beginning of the trail and it seems to be fine, just squishy like everywhere else. I did not have time for a full survey.

So I'd say go ahead and look for the EUWI. Apologies if I caused anyone to irrevocably change their Saturday plans. Based on what we heard yesterday, it would not have been passable then, but it's OK now. And ducks don't mind water!
