I had a good lunchtime walk around Schoolhouse Pond today. A dozen or so Tree Swallows were flying over the water and I found my first Northern Rough-winged Swallow mixed in with them. Also present was one Wilson's Snipe, which flushed from the mudflats as I walked to the rear observation platform. Migrant waterfowl have been largely absent the last few days, but there were seven Wood Ducks present, including six males. Also of note were my first Laughing Gulls of the season at Schoolhouse Pond at least. Flyover gulls included 12 Laughing Gulls, 4 Ring-billed Gulls, and 1 Herring Gull. Good birding,
