I had a nice hike along Muncaster Creek and around Lake Needwood this
morning. Notable birds included a pair of Barred Owls perched in trees
along Muncaster Creek, 15 Double Crested Cormorants flying over the
lake or on the shore near the island, and four Fox sparrows along
Muncaster creek and near Needwood Mansion with one singing prominently
enough to learn its song. A Yellow-bellied Sapsucker and Brown Creeper
rounded out a very enjoyable but chilly morning.
