Don't know what Google Maps says, but the street sign on the corner says
Beach Haven Circle, which in fact is a circle road. At the gate there is
another sign that says Cedar Lane, which is apparently where that designation
begins.

On Google Maps, the named street, that is an immediate right where
Morgantown
Road hits the water, is Cedar Lane. It looks like Morgantown Road has a
yellow
line that ends at the bend by the water and shortly afterward, your right
turn
will appear.

When you're done with the ROGO, can you please send it downriver a few
miles
into St. Mary's County? Beauvue Ponds would be nice!

the Ross's Goose remains in the pond at Morgantown, with 40-50 Canada
Geese. It is a long way from where you can park, so take a scope. We
saw it
at 11:30 feeding ashore with the other geese. There is a white domestic
goose in the same flock.

Directions: take 301 south to route 257, Rock Point Road, at Newberg.
Take this road to Wayside. Turn right on Morgantown Road and drive 2.1
miles
to the end. Take a right at the end of the road and an immediate right
on
Beach Haven Circle. Drive a few tenths of a mile until a locked gate
appears ahead. The artificial pond is 100 yards or so to the right,
east. It
continues north to a farm road. The geese were at the far end of the
pond.

Newberg, Wayside, and Morgantown are all tiny little spots of a few to a
dozen homes.

Hi Everyone,

Jim Green and I birded southern MD today and had some nice surprises.
The
bird of the day came in the afternoon, in Morgantown in Charles County.
The flock of Canada Geese by the small pond here contained a single,
adult
Ross's Goose! We got photos of what may be the first record of this
species
in Charles Co. We called George Jett, and he and Gwen were able to come
down to see the bird. George got additional photos, which are surely an
upgrade from the documentation shots that I took.

Earlier in the afternoon we stopped at Beauvue Ponds in St Mary's County,

hoping for Green-winged Teal. We found 12 of them--with a bonus of 2
Blue-winged Teal mixed in. Quite a day!

Have fun,
