On Sunday afternoon about 6:30 (coming back from Riley's Lock), I was crossing Rock Creek Park on Military Rd., going east, and was almost past the last of the park, when ahead of me in the road, looking to hop over the barrier down the middle, were two wild turkey hens!!  I slowed down, and they both went over the wall into the northern side of the road, with cars heading at them--I didn't hear any sounds of collision, and I hope they made it.  I've seen deer cross Military about there, but at night, and a couple of years ago saw two coyotes in the park while going thru on Military pretty late, but turkeys are almost a bigger surprise than the coyotes even.
