Afternoon all,
I only had time for a quick walk around the yard this morning before I had to leave, but I did have one nice bird. As I was almost finished with the walk and was heading to the shop with Peanut for a doggie cookie (for him not me), I saw a bird flying over heading away from me. As I put my bins on it, my first thought was that it was just a mourning dove, but then it flew in and landed atop a neighbors tree, where it materialized into an American Kestrel. The light was not too good, but I think it was a male. Shortly after it landed a mob of Blue Jays began to harass it, and after a bit it flew off behind my neighbors house and then off through the farm fields. Still lots of juncos and white-throats around, as well as chippies and an occasional Field Sparrow too.
