Afternoon all,
This afternoon at 1:50 I watched an adult Bald Eagle soar over the house, heading west. It was fairly high up but easily spotted naked eye, and viewed well with bins. Two Red-tailed Hawks and two Cooper's Hawks rounded out the raptors.
A Tree Swallow zoomed by this morning, stopping very briefly to check out the box in the front field before moving on. Bluebirds have been perching all over the yard and softly singing thei wonderful song. Yesterday an Eastern Phoebe was perched briefly on our porch railing (seen from the kitchen window), then flew down to the porch to grab something before it flew off into the yard.
House Sparrows had started building a nest beneath the retractable awning (velcroed shut for the winter), before I put a stop to them.
