Howdy,
Six of us (Jacob Popham, Jason Kaczor, Kevin Oxenrider, Marie Brady, and Morgan- whose last name I didn't get) met at Frostburg State University this morning hoping to catch some early migrants along the C&O Canal in Allegany Co. It might still be a bit early here out west.
The best birds were a pair of BLUE-WINGED TEAL at North Branch, and COMMON MERGANSER at Paw Paw Tunnel.
Finzel Swamp was fairly quiet. Two American Coot were on the pond.
Piney Reservoir was buzzing with waterfowl. We counted 17 COMMON LOON- looking sharp in full breeding plumage- a small group of Ring-necked Ducks, and Red-breasted Mergansers.
Complete eBird lists are below.
Good Birding!
