Hi all,

After I saw Gail & Barry's posting I decided to head up to Pine Lake at Wheaton Regional Park to view the Common Loon in the scope- Magnificent!  I was having such a fun time watching the loon, I spent the afternoon there. It was interesting to study the loon and the way it submerged. When people and children were around the lake, I noticed the loon seemed to dive more, and move to the farest corner.

Over head, an Osprey came into view. Later a flock of Golden-crowned Kinglets with a few Ruby crowned were overhead, and then a brighter bird: NORTHERN PARULA ( female) my earliest yet. It moved with the kinglets and I lost track of it. The lovely Palm Warblers were present, and the Blue-gray Gnatcatchers were flitting for insects.  A female Hooded Merganser seems like she might nest in the area.
