The highlight of my lunchtime walk around Schoolhouse Pond was a Glossy Ibis. The bird flew in as I walked to the rear observation platform. I then got great views of it foraging on the mudflats and in the shallow water. I watched it for five or ten minutes and also got some semi-close photos. As I continued my walk and was on the boardwalk near the residential townhouses, the ibis flew over the mudflats and landed closer to the area where I now was. It was still foraging on the mudflats when I left, really a beautiful bird in the mid-day light. I went back and check my records and I had previously seen Glossy Ibis at Schoolhouse Pond on April 13, 2000 and April 20, 2004.
