Hi Everybody:

I checked a few areas after work in the evening yesterday. Heading out River Road I pulled into the parking area a quarter mile before Hunting Quarter Road. This is where the historical marker is and on the old maps this area is identified as Upper Casey. It was not too birdy here but I did have 2 BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHERS (foy) here.

I then drove down Hunting Quarter Road which was fairly quiet until I began approaching Hughes Hollow. This time I did all of my scanning & scoping from numerous angles along H. Q. Rd. I did not walk out the path at Hughes Hollow this time.
There was still a nice variety of ducks:

       8 Wood Duck
     33 Gadwall
     29 American Wigeon
       6 BLUE-WINGED TEAL
       3 NORTHERN SHOVELER (all drakes)
     24 Ring-necked Duck
       4 Hooded Mergansers (all females)
       2 Pied-billed Grebe
       2 American Coot
I also saw my FOY Green Heron.

After leaving Hughes Hollow I did a quick check of the Polo Fields on Hughes Hollow. Not much there: 3 Killdeer, 2 Horned Larks and 1 GREATER YELLOWLEGS which seemed a little out of place to me. Over the years with all the times I have checked the polo fields I had never once before seen a Greater Yellowlegs on these fields.
