Some nice FOS birds for Nancy and me along the C&O Canal between MP 71 and 73 today, including Brown Thrasher, Yellow-throated Warbler, Louisiana Waterthrush, and Eastern Towhee.

Several migrant Golden-crowned Kinglets and Brown Creepers were seen as well.

The complete list of 24 species is as follows:

Double-crested Cormorant
Canada Goose
Mallard
Red-shouldered Hawk
Mourning Dove
Barred Owl
Eastern Phoebe
Fish Crow
Common Raven
Tree Swallow
Carolina Chickadee
Tufted Titmouse
Brown Creeper
Carolina Wren
Golden-crowned Kinglet
Eastern Bluebird
Brown Thrasher
European Starling
Cedar Waxwing
Yellow-throated Warbler
Louisiana Waterthrush
Eastern Towhee
Chipping Sparrow
American Goldfinch

The bloodroot has finished blooming here, but dutchman's breeches, cutleaf toothwort, spring beauties, grape hyacinth are in full bloom, and bluebells and trout lily are about to open.
