I birded parts of Wicomico and Somerset counties yesterday. Overall, I had a fun day with some good birds and a few highlights. I started the day birding most of the overlooks onto the Nanticoke River, the best birds seen were at Cove Road Landing where 8 American Oystercatchers flew by heading up river. I had many Surf Scoters and Northern Gannets at several stops, at Waterview standing on the trunk of my car looking over the marsh grass I found one White-winged Scoter in with the Surfs. I counted a total of 16 Brown Pelicans on the river, 15 in one group on the Dorchester side and one on the Wic side. Hearing and seeing some of the recent warbler arrivals was nice.
