Wonderful evening stroll down Kingsley trail this evening. I was accompanied by PINE WARBLER (3), BG GNATCATCHER (many), and a PRAIRIE WARBLER (heard only). Still many winter friends about, although I suspect they'll be moving along soon. I was treated to a lovely, up-close view of a fluffed-up CAROLINA WREN. For some reason, it just sort of sat there for a minute or so rather than exhibiting its typical energetic movement. Maybe it was just as worn out by the work week as I was. As evening progressed, a RAVEN traversed the sky heading towards Froggy Hollow. As I nearly reached the end of the Kingsley trail by the old schoolhouse, I was startled by the flight of a GBH that had been down by the creek. It was kind of odd to see the big fellow down there rather than nearer a lake or pond. But hey... I'll take it!
Enjoy this migration window!
