Last evening after work, I headed down to North Beach, Calvert Co., to find the Eared Grebe that Dan Haas saw and photographed this week. The seas were really rough due to the gathering winds, and I could not locate the bird. But a bonus was two COMMON TERNS seen close in, flying up the bay, from Atlantic Avenue.

At least three Northern Gannets were diving out on the bay, and Black Scoter was a good new county bird.

North Beach Marsh held three Snowy Egrets, an American Coot and a Bonaparte's Gull sitting on the flats.

Good Birding!
