We have had a Red-breasted Nuthatch and 4 absolutely gorgeous plumaged male Purple Finches at out feeders for 3 days now. Our Goldfinches are now bright yellow and the Bluebirds are setting up their nest and enjoying the mealworms and I furminated all 3 dogs Thursday and set the fur in baskets for nesting material. Within the hour the Chipping Sparrow checked it out and a Carolina Chickadee gathered a huge mouthful and flew to his nesting site with it.
We had a Great-blue Heron walking slowly in the creek in the back yard at dinner time yesterday, searching for his dinner and an adult Bald Eagle was soaring above the house.
The hummingbird feeders have been up since the second week in March, but we are still diligently watching for their arrival.
My Virginia Bluebells are in full bloom in my shade garden right now and I bet they are spectacular in Susquehanna State Park along the fishermans trail, just off from the Greenways Trail on the far end of the Park. I got some great pictures of them there last year.

Enjoy the migration,
