Hi Everyone,

Yes, that's right, Kevin. There is one Anne Arundel record, but it hasn't been entered in eBird yet. It was a vagrant that spent just a few hours at Fort Smallwood on 4/27/2006.

I wouldn't mind a repeat of that one! It was before I moved to the immediate area and I didn't make it out there in time.

Good birding!

Bill

I believe that this would constitute a first Anne Arundel record. And almost as far north as you can go in AA to boot. Don't hold your breath on this being real, though. If you've been paying attention to the GBBC for many years (remember Richard Wood and the High Priests of Birding?), lots of BHNUs got reported in some very unlikely areas before Marshall Iliff created the individual county filters that made it harder to report birds that aren't on the filter. To my knowledge, the furthest north that they are currently being seen is at the end of Lloyd Bowen Road in Calvert though I would bet that they're somewhere on Broomes Island or nearby in correct habitat.

I've always been curious about what exactly it is that is being erroneously reported. Brown Creeper?

I saw a report on the eBird gadget about 2 Brown-headed Nuthatches
here in Anne Arundel inside the Patuxent NT.  Any details would be
appreciated!
