You mean on the western shore. Of course on the eastern shore they
get as far north as Kent Co.--just had them at Eastern Neck NWR over
the weekend. That is only 10 mi. across the bay from AA Co. (And had
a RB Nuthatch 20 miles out to sea on a pelagic once (!)--so nuthatches
certainly do fly over the water.)
