Hey everyone,

Jared Satchell and I spent three hours this evening (9 to 12) on
Elliott Island Rd. We met Lang Elliott who was recording Southern
Leopard Frogs. Anyone with an interest in herps should own his book,
"The Frogs and Toads of North America". The book comes with a cd with
all the frog and toad calls. Well worth the money.

Canada Goose -- 8
Mallard/Am. Black Duck -- 11
Pied-billed Grebe -- 2
American Bittern -- 1
Black-crowned Night-Heron -- 1
Large Rail sp? -- 13
Virginia Rail -- 14
Sora -- 1
Common Moorhen -- 1
Black-necked Stilt -- 4
Willet -- 2
Dunlin -- 4
Barn Owl -- 1
Great Horned Owl -- 2
Marsh Wren -- 6
Seaside Sparrow -- 6
Swamp Sparrow -- 1

On the way home we made a couple stops in the pine woods just north of
the marsh and we had 6 Chuck-wills-widow calling.

Non-avian -- Opossum, Raccoon, Fowler's Toads, Southern Leopard Frogs,
Carpenter Frogs, Luna Moth.
