Around 9:30 the sun was nearly out, but as it got cloudier, darker, and a bit cooler, the birds seemed to quiet down and be less active. Large numbers of yellow rumps, a thick pocket or two of rc-kings. This place continues to be a good thrush location, as I had 2 hermits. I ran into a small flock of palms. Best bird today was same as yesterday at CVP: a black-throated green. Might have heard a piece of a c yellowthroat. Unfortunately, for the 3rd straight visit, no waterthrush. I chatted awhile with Keith Costley who was arriving as I was leaving. Hope he had some luck.
Some birds:
Hermit Thrush (2)
White-Eyed Vireo (1)
Parula (throughout)
Yellow-Rumped W (many)
Black-and-White W (2 or 3, not singing)
YELLOW (1)
Palm W (6+, not singing)
BLACK-THROATED GREEN (1, bright male, not singing)
Al good birding,
Tim
