If you wanted to see a yellow warbler today, Harfard Glen was the place to be. Soon after I'd gotten there, I relegated it to "junk bird" status. The place was also filled with Common Yellowthroats. I suppose that activity and variety were about average for this time of year. I was hoping for more, but it was a fine time. My last warbler came at the end and it was an FOS 1st-summer male Redstart. Heard a Screech Owl in the woods.
Some of the birds:
Bald Eagle (2)
Osprey (1)
Solitary Sandpiper (1, FOS)
Eastern Screech Owl (1)
GREAT-CRESTED FLYCATCHER (1, FOS)
RT Hummer (1)
WARBLING VIREO (2, FOS)
White-Eyed Vireo (4)
YELLOW WARBLER (12)
C. Yellowthroat (abundant)
REDSTART (1, young male, FOS)
Parula (4)
Yellow-Rumped W (thinly spread)
Palm (2, one of each)
OVENBIRD (2)
Pine Warbler (1)
Louisiana Waterthrush (2)
Great Egret
I saw Ruth Bergstrom who had some nice birds I missed, including Eastern Kingbird, Least Tern, Orchard Oriole, and Catbird.
