After breakfast I had a chance to walk around and do a yard watch. Warbler diversity was quite low (5 sp.), but overall bird activity was high and it was a great morning. I had 74 species for the day (morning only); we were gone most of the day after that. Highlight was a Warbling Vireo, which I recall seeing here only one other time, about 5 years ago. It was singing a while from a sycamore tree than flew off to the north. I had a nice view of a Common Loon flyover, and thoroughly enjoyed a Yellow Warbler while I showed him to my two sons as he blasted away with his song from point blank range in our front tree. Other notables (not FOS) included a calling Least Bittern, at least 4 hummers using the feeder, a Blue Jay flight (50+), and an emerging box turtle.
Cheers!
