Jay Sheppard reported a Common Moorhen today at the Little Patuxent Oxbow Lake Nature Preserve (Anne Arundel County). The Common Moorhen is about 1 month earlier than has been reported before. In 2010, the earliest date was 5/22/10 and in 2006, the
earliest date was 5/25/06. Other arrivals today included Gray Catbird and Purple Martin.
Over the weekend, new arrivals included Black-and-white Warbler, Yellow-throated Vireo, Red-eyed Vireo, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, Eastern Kingbird, Great-crested Flycatcher, and Northern Parula.
