A number of people have reported a resurgence of Pine Siskins in the
last few days.
We can now join the crowd -- I just noticed that two of the drabber
Goldfinches swarming all over and chowing down on our thistle feeders
are in fact Pine Siskins. I don't know how long they have been
around, because we've been away for much of the last week, but I
suspect they just came in.
The male Goldfinches are looking very snazzy in their new, bright
plumage, and even tradesmen visiting the house can't fail to notice
them. (You keep canaries?)
