I was there this morning and activity must have changed after I left. It was ominously gray, wet and very quiet while I was there, but I had a surprise find at the ridge. I had a SAVANNAH SPARROW in crisp breeding plumage that was silently foraging in the grass at the Ridge. An odd location (first time I've ever seen one there), and getting late (the sparrow migrants around our house all left weeks ago). Other observations (only 19 warblers observed!):

Total # birders seen - 3

Ridge- BT Blue 2, Bl & Wh 2 and Am Redstart 2
Maint Yd- BT Blue 2
Vis Ctr- Hooded 2 (2 males singing at same time!), BT Blue 2, Blackpoll 2, Yellow 1, N Parula 1, SW Thrush 2
Dog Run- Yellowthroat 3.

P.S.- If the id' was positive, the best find Wallace reported was BT Grackle. Philly Vireo is always a treat, but a Boat-tailed is awesome for DC! Has anyone re-sighted it?
