This afternoon I observed a subadult Mississippi Kite near the junction of Duvall and Mt Calvert roads.  It was overhead for some time feeding on a dragonfly before it headed out of sight in the direction of the Patuxent River.  I tried to relocate it by heading down Mt. Calvert road and then searched the river and Jug Bay from the great vantage point there, but with no luck.
