I stopped by Hains Pt. this afternoon on my way from work, following Jason's tantalizing report. No sign of any flycatchers other than the E. Kingbirds though. But while watching the river near the point ( I was actually opposite the maintenance road), I picked up on a medium-sized shorebird flying upriver. At first it was flying high, then it did a quick drop down to just above the water as it made its way towards point (as if it was going to land). Then it made a quick U-turn which revealed the black belly patch, and headed back downriver. I lost it as it went around the point, heading up the Anacostia.

No other birds of note, except perhaps the large number of waxwings along the maintenance road.

Good birding,
