I took a lunchtime trip to Swan Creek today, but failed to refind the Long-billed Curlew. I was hoping it was just roosting somewhere else last night and would come back today to feed.

There were some shorebirds present though:

Semipalmated Plover - 1
Killdeer - 1
Spotted Sandpiper - 2
Semipalmated Sandpiper - 4
Least Sandpiper - 8
White-rumped Sandpiper - 1
peep sp. - 8
Dunlin - 4

Hope it comes back!

With ridiculous optimism, I've been looking in Spring and Fall everytime I pass
he fields near Brandywine, where the 1987 bird was seen. That bird was around
or a couple weeks. Is this (yesterday's) bird the first one since then?
I'm guessing MDOsprey will be getting lots of hits today and tomorrow from folks
hecking to see if its been re-sighted!
