During a quick lunchtime walk around the Mall and the Tidal Basin, I saw
An Osprey catch a large gizzard shad in the Tidal Basin
An adult Red-tailed Hawk perched on the northwest corner of the USDA North Building, being harassed by (it seemed) most of the Mall's breeding species: Mockingbird, American Robin, House Sparrow, House Finch, Starling. The Mockingbird was actually making contact.
The other highlight was a Scarlet Tanager singing from the Tidal Basin cherries between the Ohio Drive bridge and the future MLK monument.
The only obvious migrants were Blackpolls.
